2011 MTV Video Music Awards: Who Wore What? Katy Perry in Atelier Versace

Katy Perry in Atelier Versace: Asiana Mini!!! Fully sequined (by hand, thank you VERY MUCH!! It's Atelier Versace!! The brand's version of Haute Couture and probably estimated at costing approximately $30,000-40,000, if not more, if she were to actually buy it). Katy loves short beaded dresses, as I know--since she "honored" me not too long ago by wearing one of my NIKOLAKI sequined mini dresses! I think she looks sooo cute, the dress fits her just right (I think it was custom made for her) and I love that she finished off the ASIANA theme with a Japanese-style umbrella and cherry blossom flowers in her pink hair. She looks like the Hostess at a VERY UPSCALE version of Hollywood's Yamashiro Restaurant!

"The Smurfs in 3D" Movie Premiere occurred in NYC on Sunday at the Ziegfield Theater. Naturally instead of a Red Carpet, it was Blue...Smurf Blue! Miss Katy Perry attended wearing a custom crystal strapless bustier dress designed by The Blonds (Phillipe & David Blond, NYC-based fashion and costume designers for Kylie, Beyoncé, Miley, Adam Lambert, Britney). They created other looks for Miss Katy in the past but this one had a very special sequined "Smurfette" emblazoned across the front. I thought she looked very cute! Loved her hair and make-up as well as her Blue Louboutins!

Actress Jayma Mays wore a very simple apple-green strapless mini-dress by NYC-based designer (and red carpet fave) Reem Acra. Very apropos for the event and quite striking.

"Modern Family" Latina-Fabulosa, Sofia Vergara showed up in a floor-length violet-colored strapless gown from Missoni Resort 2012, featuring hints of that fashion house's iconic "zig-zag" print motif.

And then...Guess who was also there? Yep, that's Tim Gunn!! With The Smurfs!! Oh Tim, he just finished taping the newest season (Season 9) of Project Runway which begins airing this Thursday night on Lifetime. Tim's BIG ear-to-ear smile lets me know he probably was just happy it was all over!!! Those 14-hour shoot days can get to you! (trust me, been there/done that!). Oh, and yes, by the way, Tim look dashing as always on the blue carpet and can't wait to see his guest starring role in the movie!

Well kids, my NIKOLAKI design partner, David Paul and I barely touched down in LA from our whirlwind of a quick trip to showcase our Collection in San Antonio Texas at the SUPER-fabulous Alteza Penthouse when we found out that...

The ONE and ONLY Katy Perry wore one of our Spring 2011 Collection dresses to the Launch of her new Purr Fragrance in one of my favorite cities: Mexico City! It's a lilac silk chiffon hand-beaded sequin paillette one-shoulder cap-sleeved cocktail mini dress with a cowl-draped front. Of course, we think she looked AMAZING! Love the jet-black "pin-up" model hair and STOMPING heels!
